I can't think of another human being who had such a charismatic sense of humor as Peter O'Brien. His sense of humor not only inspired me, but made it that much more of a pleasure for me when I worked with him. I share many memories of him in that I saw him frequently at the Herndon CompuClub facility. One of the most memorable times for me was a chat that he and I had after a class I had taught. I had suggested how unhealthy smoking was and was teasing him about his habit. He said that he had actually stoppped smoking in the past but had picked it up again. In my own way I encouraged him to stop smoking and to my pleasant surprise, a few days later he had made a commitment to stop. He told me that not only was it difficult to stop but that when he slept, he dreamed about smoking! We both just laughed. Peter, you taught me to look at things with a casual sense of humor. You will be profoundly missed. <Brice Richard>
